A fee-inclusive ticket price feature bundles all costs into a single fee and displays it to the ticket buyer; it includes additional costs such as surcharges, passed-on Yapsody fees, but excludes Taxes.
Taxes are applied as soon as tickets are added to the cart. Please continue reading to set it up on your account.
Before we start:-
- For US accounts, by default, this feature is been enabled to comply with the new Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rule.
- Upfront will only display the (Base Ticket Price + Yapsody fees + Additional Surcharges (per ticket/transaction), excluding the taxes.
- The same applies to surcharges when collecting a flat amount per transaction instead of per ticket.
- If an auto-apply discount, such as a Miscellaneous or Early Purchase discount, is enabled and active, the discounted price will be displayed.
- Group Discount is also Auto-applied however, the customer needs to meet the group size criteria, hence it wouldn't show a discounted price initially.
A) For a NON-US account, follow the below steps to set up:-
i) From your Box Office Calendar, click on the Organization Name at the top left and select Settings from the drop-down list.
ii) From the list of options displayed to the left, click on "Transaction", scroll the page down, check the box before "Fee-Inclusive Pricing", and click "Save" to record the changes.
B) How would the setup be displayed to your ticket buyers?
i) Consider, your "Base Ticket Price" is $10, you're passing off the Yapsody Fees to your ticket buyer, and also collecting an additional "Surcharge" and "Tax" of $2 each.
With this set up, the ticket buyer initially sees the Fee-inclusive price of $12.76, excluding taxes i.e ($10 Base Ticket Price + $0.76 Yapsody Fees + $2 Surcharge) however, upon adding tickets to the cart, a detailed breakdown is displayed to the right, and also include the taxes, as displayed in the following screenshots.
a) Event Description Page:-
b) Ticket Selection Page:-
ii) Now, if a ticket buyer adds 02 tickets to the cart, the tax is split among tickets since we are collecting a Flat amount of $2, and the tax is applied to the transaction rather than each ticket.
