How to use Square terminal to accept payments (Box office)?

Upon successful completion of linking Square Terminal to your Yapsody Account, it's time to use it to accept funds from ticket sales through Box Office. 

Note:- Square terminal option will only be available for USD currency.

Once the setup is successful, follow the below instructions to start accepting funds using Square Terminal in No Time!

i) On the checkout page, select Credit Card as the payment option.

ii) Select the "Terminal Device" from the list of linked Terminals as per your preference and click “Make Payment.”

iii) Upon clicking "Make payment" you will see a pop-up of Processing Your Payment, also a Payment Prompt would be sent to the Square Terminal. 

iv) Upon receiving the payment prompt, you can accept the payment through the following options. 

a) Tap (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or contactless devices)

b) Insert (Chip credit cards) 

c)  Swipe (magnetic stripe cards).

v) Once the payment is successful the terminal would start printing a receipt and on the box office page you will see an order Id generated that starts FT.  

Note: The "Key In" option lets you manually enter the credit card information.

While using Square Terminal, you may also have queries, such as:- 

1) Can a combined payment method work with the terminal? 

Absolutely, you can select Credit Card and Cash or Credit Card and Custom or Credit Card and Check.

You just need to enter the amount customer is paying through another mode than Card and click on the Make Payment button, the remaining amount will be displayed on the Square Terminal. 

For Example:- For a $10 ticket customer is requesting to split the payment in half through Cash and Card, simply select Credit Card and Cash as the payment method, enter $5 under Cash and $5 would auto-populate under Credit card and the same would be displayed on the terminal upon clicking "Make Payment."   

2) Can a transaction be canceled from a Box Office account? 

Of Course, simply click on the "Cancel" button available on the Processing Your Payment pop-up and it will display “Seller Canceled”. 

3) Can a transaction be canceled from the Square Terminal?

Absolutely, click on the Cancel or Back button available on the Terminal and the Box Office checkout page will display “Buyer Canceled” instead of “Seller Canceled.”

4) What is the Transaction Time Out Period of Square Terminal? 

The terminal device has its own transaction time-out period of 05 minutes and it starts only after clicking "Make Payment".

How does it work? 

For Example- For Box Office, the transaction timed period is set to 15 mins however due to any reason the transaction gets timed out on the Square Terminal after 5 minutes. 

In this case, you will see a time-out message displayed on the Box Office checkout page however it will not redirect to the Box Office calendar page until the box office time-out period of 15 minutes is completed, instead, you would see a timer showing the duration left. 

5) What if the Transaction is timed out at Box Office before the transaction is timed out on the Terminal device?

In such cases, the transaction will get canceled on the terminal device.
