The Shift4 payment gateway can be linked to the Yapsale (POS) app; however, it requires a compatible Shift4 Terminal to be connected. This article explains how to pair the Shift4 Terminal with Yapsale and proceed with booking tickets.
Before you start:-
- Yapsale is currently supported only on iPads.
- Reserved Seating events created using the latest version are ONLY compatible with ticket booking.
- Add-ons purchases are also supported.
- Shift4 terminal connects via TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and it supports devices PAX A800 and PAX A80.
- Shift4 Payment option needs to be enabled on your Yapsody account, if you haven't linked it yet, please click here for detailed instructions.
- This article is divided in 02 Parts, Connecting the Shift4 Terminal, followed with how to book tickets using it.
A) How to configure Shift4 Terminal:-
i) Download the app from the iOS App Store, open it, and tap "Sign in." Then, enter your credentials to log in to your account.
ii) On the home screen, you’ll see a list of active events. At checkout, all the existing available payment options except credit cards will be displayed. Because the app currently supports credit card transactions only through Shift4 terminals, you’ll need to configure the terminal first. To get started, tap the 'Settings' icon at the top.
iii) Next, Tap "Configure CC Terminal" on the following Page.
Note:- You can also prefer enabling the AutoScan option that auto scans the tickets as soon as they are booked.
iv) Enter the details, such as Destination IP Address, Port, etc, into the app from your Terminal Device and click on "Set" to establish a connection.
Notes:-
- The Timeout would remain constant at 60000.
- Click the "Test Connection" option to ensure the connection is successful.
B) How to issue tickets from the YapSale App?
i) Tap on the events that you would like to book tickets for, select the quantity/seats from the following page, and click "Checkout" to move to the payment processing page.
Notes:-
- From the same screen, you can also add tickets for different events.
- Active discounts will be displayed on the Ticket/Seat Selection Page.
ii) If a discount is active and you need to offer it, enable the 'Apply Discounts' switch and select the preferred Promo Code from the drop-down menu.
For the "Courtesy discount"option to appear, after enabling the switch, click on the ticket type (Ticket Name).
iii) On the checkout page, fill up the customer details and choose the payment method, and click on "Checkout" to move to the payment processing page.
iv) Tapping checkout will display a message of processing your payment please enter/swipe the card on the terminal device to complete the purchase.
V) After a successful purchase, a 'Transaction Successful' message will appear, along with the event details and an option to print your ticket and receipt.
Note:- You can prescan the tickets by clicking on the option "Mark Ticket as Scanned."
