How to Link Square reader to the Yapsale (POS) APP and book tickets?

The Yapsale (POS) app supports payment processing through Square; however, it requires a Square Reader to be connected. 

This article explains how to pair the Square Reader with Yapsale and proceed with booking tickets.

Before you start:- 

• Yapsale is currently supported only on iPads.
• Reserved Seating events created using the latest version are ONLY compatible with ticket booking.
• Add-ons purchases are also supported.
• Square Payment option needs to be enabled on your Yapsody account, if you haven't linked it yet, please click here for detailed instructions.
• Since the Square Reader connects via Bluetooth, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad throughout the time you're using the reader.
• The Square Reader allows you to dip, swipe, or tap a card for payment. You’ll also have the option to manually enter card details if needed.
• This article is divided in 02 Parts, Connecting the Square Reader, followed with how to book tickets using Square Reader. 

A) Let's connect it:- 

i) Download the app from the iOS App Store, open it, and tap "Sign in." Then, enter your credentials to log in to your account.

ii) On the home screen, you’ll see a list of active events, click on the "Gear Icon" at the top.

iii) Next, click "Configure Square."

iv) On the following page, you would need to enable the permissions that includes, Bluetooth, Location and Microphone. 

Note:- These permissions are mandatory and required by "Square" not by "US." 

v) Once all permissions are enabled, the app will search for available card readers and display them in a list with a “Pair” option.

Tapping “Pair” will initiate the connection between Yapsale and the Square Reader. If the pairing is successful, the status will show “Connected” along with the reader details under “My Device.” You’re now ready to proceed with booking tickets.

B) How to Book Tickets? 

i) Tap on the events that you would like to book tickets for, select the quantity/seats from the following page, and click "Checkout" to move to the payment processing page.  

Notes:-

• From the same screen, you can also add tickets for different events.
• Active discounts will be displayed on the Ticket/Seat Selection Page. 

ii) On the checkout page, fill up the customer details and choose the payment method as "Credit Card" and click on "Checkout" to move to the payment processing page.

iii) Tapping checkout will display a message of processing your payment, than redirect to Square's Payment processing Page, Dip, Tap, Swipe or Enter card details manually to complete the purchase. 

iv) A successful purchase will display a message of "Approved" and issue tickets.
