How to set up the Square payment method?

Follow the below steps to learn how to Link Square as the payment option to your Yapsody account. 

i) Hover the mouse cursor on the Organization Name at the top left and click "Settings."

ii) Now click on "Accept Payments" that's the second option on the list to the left followed by "Add Payment Method" at the top right. 

iii) Select "Credit Card" from the Drop Down list, and right below it, you will see a drop-down list of all the payment processor names that can be linked, you just need to choose Square. 

iv) Upon selecting Square, you would see the Square Payment Gateway page, click on "Authorize."

v) You would be now directed to the Square sign-in page. To link an existing Square account, simply log in using the Credentials (Email Address and Password).

If you don't have one, then click the Sign-up button to Set up a Square account.

vi) After signing in, Square will give an option to “Deny” or “Allow.” 

Upon clicking “Allow” it will redirect to the Accept payment page with a set up successful message “Square authorization successful”. If you click “Deny” Square setup would be unsuccessful and you will be redirected to the Accept payment page with an error message "Square authorization failed."

vii) On the Square settings page, the merchant name will be automatically filled in. This will be the name that you have set in your Square account. 

viii) Location: It will display all the locations set up in Square, however you can choose one location from the drop down menu. This will enable event presenters to generate location-specific transactions reports in their Square account. It will auto-select the default location, but if you want to choose another one, Click Edit button and click on the Drop-down menu and then choose it from the list.

ix) Your final step is to click the "Add" button on the settings page to finish setting up the Square payment method.

Please Note- Once Square authorization is successful, under the Square settings page, instead of the “Authorize" button now you will see “Reauthorize” and "Revoke".

• Reauthorize: This is used when the Square account gets unlinked due to issues like Key expired, and etc. The user can click on the Reauthorize button to reconnect and reauthorize your account.
• Revoke: This is used when you want to remove the square payment gateway account from your Yapsody account. 

In order to ensure the setup is successful, you can also do a test transaction by clicking the "Test Transaction" button available at the bottom of the Square setup page.
