This article explains how to set up an Early Purchase Discount for your event in Yapsody.

An Early Purchase Discount allows you to offer discounted ticket prices for a limited time before the event date, encouraging attendees to purchase tickets earlier.

Before you start

• Early Purchase Discounts are automatically applied at checkout when the conditions are met.

• The discount will only apply until the configured number of days before the event.

Steps to Set up Early Purchase Discount

1) Select the event from the Box Office Calendar and click on "Edit" at the top right (How do I do this?). 

2) Now, Click "Pricing." 

3) Click on "Discounts" followed by "Add Discount." If your event already has a discount enabled, click "New Discount" displayed at the left. 

4) NEXT SCREEN will have "Early Purchase Discount" auto-selected. Fill in mandatory fields like "Discount Name" and "Amount."

• To limit discounted tickets, select "Yes" under "Restrict Redemption" and enter the ticket limit. Once reached, the discount ends.
• Date Validity defines how many days before the event the discount applies. For example, for a March 11 event with a March 1 discount end, enter 10 days. The validity will display next to the event date and time (see screenshot).

Note: If all restricted tickets are redeemed early, the discount will no longer apply at checkout.

Note:- Discounts can be applied to the Box Office, Online Store, or both for selected performances using the switches next to the performance date and time. Simply toggle them ON or OFF and click "Save" to save the settings.

5) Moreover, a discount can also be limited to ticket types; all you need to do is click on "Ticket Type" next to General Settings and enable/disable the ticket types. 

For instance, you have created 3 Ticket Types, Adult, Children, and Family, the discount should only apply to Adult and Children tickets, simply disable it for "Family" ticket type.
