A Reserved Seating event allows ticket buyers to select specific seats during the booking process. This event type is ideal for venues with assigned seating layouts where different sections, rows, and seats can have different pricing.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Start the Event Creation Process
Click the Create Event tab located at the top left of the screen, between your Organization Name and the Search bar.
2. Select Event Type
Select Create an Event with Reserved Seating.
If you want to use an existing event setup instead, you can choose Copy Existing.
3. Enter Event Information
Complete the Event Info section by entering your event details.
The Event Info and Pricing sections are mandatory. These fields must be completed before moving to the remaining setup options.
4. Schedule Your Performances
By default, you will be prompted to enter the Event Start Date & Time and Event End Date & Time.
To add time slots, click Add Performance.

From the Performances tab, you can also cancel, unpublish and delete specific showtimes.
Within each performance, you can also configure:
- Doors Open time
- Ticket Sales Start and End dates
5. Configure Seating Categories
Navigate to Seating from the top menu.
Under Manage Seat Category, click Add Category.
For each seating category:
- Enter a Category Name (Example: VIP, Gold, Silver)
- Choose a Category Color
- Click Done to save the category
Create as many seating categories as required for your event.
6. Create Your Seating Chart
Select the Seating Chart tab under Seating.
A blank canvas will appear along with the seating design tools on the left-hand side.
To begin creating sections:
- Click the S icon.

Choose one of the following options:
- Freeform Section — Draw sections in any custom shape.
- Rectangular Section — Create standard square or rectangular seating sections.
Use your mouse to draw the desired section.
Important: After drawing each section, immediately select the Pointer Tool to exit drawing mode and prevent accidentally creating overlapping sections.
7. Configure Section Properties
Click the newly created seating section.
The properties panel will appear on the right side.
Configure the following options:
Category
Assign one of the seating categories you created earlier.
Transform
Resize, rotate, or reposition the seating section as needed.
Label
Customize how the section appears to ticket buyers by configuring:
- Section Name
- Font Size
- Label Orientation
- X and Y Position
8. Add Seats to the Section
Enter Section Mode by either:
- Double-clicking the seating section, or
- Selecting the section and clicking Edit Contents.
Inside Section Mode, click the three-dot (...) menu to choose how seats will be created.
Available options include:
Straight Line
Create seats in a straight row.
Arc
Arrange seats in a curved layout.
Multiple Rows
Create an entire seating block by dragging the cursor downward to automatically generate multiple rows.
Click inside the section and drag your mouse to add seats.
Repeat the process until the section is complete.
9. Configure Rows and Seats
After adding seats, you can customize the layout further.
Remove Seats
Highlight the seats you wish to remove and press the Delete key.
Assign Pricing Categories
Select one or more rows.
Choose the desired Pricing Category from the options displayed on the right.
Different rows may use different pricing categories if required.
Adjust Row Layout
Modify:
- Number of seats
- Row spacing
- Seat spacing
Configure Labels
Customize both Row Labels and Seat Labels.
You can also configure:
- Starting Number or Letter using Start At
- Label Direction (Left to Right or Right to Left)
Once satisfied with the seating layout:
- Click Exit Section
- Click Save & Proceed
10. Set Up Ticket Pricing
Open the Pricing tab.
Select Add Ticket Type.
Complete the following fields:
Ticket Type Name
Examples:
- Adult
- Child
- Student
- VIP
Description
Provide additional information about the ticket.
Example:
Child tickets are valid for guests under 12 years of age.
Set Price
Assign the selling price.
Limit Quantity
Enable Limit Quantity if you wish to restrict the number of tickets available for a particular ticket type or performance.

Sales Channels
If the ticket type should only be available through the Box Office, uncheck Online Store.
Within the Pricing menu, you can also manage optional settings such as Billing, Discounts, Surcharges, and Taxes
11. Customize Your E-Tickets
Open the Customize menu.
From here you can:
- Select an E-ticket template
- Add header images
- Add sponsor logos
Customize the ticket appearance to match your event branding.
12. Publish Your Event
After reviewing your event configuration, click Publish New Performances in the upper-right corner.
If you saved the event without publishing it, you can publish it later from the Performances tab.
Notes
- Exit Section Mode before leaving the seating editor to ensure all seating changes are saved.
- Multiple seating categories and pricing categories can be used within the same seating chart.
- Reserved Seating events allow different sections, rows, or seats to have different pricing structures.
