Overview
Sometimes when you try to buy tickets, the system may not allow the number of tickets you want to select.
For example, you might see that you can only buy 1 ticket, must buy a minimum number of tickets, or cannot leave a single seat empty.
This article explains why that happens and what you can do.
Ticket limits are set by the presenter
Ticket purchase limits are controlled by the event presenter, not Yapsody Support.
A presenter may set:
A minimum purchase limit (for example, you must buy at least 2 tickets)
A maximum purchase limit (for example, you can only buy up to 4 tickets)
Limits per transaction (for example, Tickets to 1 per buyer)
If the system does not allow you to increase or decrease the quantity, it means the presenter has configured that rule.
“Please leave no empty seats” (seating rules explained)
For reserved seating events, you may see a rule that prevents you from leaving a single empty seat between bookings.
This usually happens when:
You select seats that leave one seat alone between two booked seats
The system is enforcing seating rules to avoid unusable single seats
Example:
If seats 10, 11, 12, 13 are available and you select only seats 10 and 13, the system may block this because seats 11–12 would become isolated.
What you can try:
Select seats next to each other
Try a different row or section
Choose a different combination of seats
If you need specific seats unlocked, only the presenter can change these rules.
Why only 1 ticket (or very few) may be available
You may only be able to select 1 ticket if:
Only one ticket remains available for that event
Most seats are already sold out
The presenter has limited availability per buyer
Certain ticket types have reached their limit
The booking page always reflects real-time availability.
Group bookings and large quantities
If you are trying to book a large number of tickets (for example, 10, 15, or 20+), the presenter may:
Restrict the quantity online
Require group bookings to be handled manually
In such cases, you will need to contact the event presenter directly to ask whether they can assist with group seating or bulk purchases.

Unlock seats
Change seating rules
Release additional tickets
Modify minimum or maximum quantities
These controls are managed entirely by the presenter.
