How to enable 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) for your Yapsody Acccount?

The introduction of 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) adds an extra security layer to the login process, a second form of verification, making it significantly harder for someone who may attempt to gain unauthorized access. Continue reading to learn how to enable it for your Yapsody account.  

Before we start:- 

• Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is configured on a per-user basis rather than for the entire account. This means that if multiple users are associated with your account, each user must individually enable 2FA to enhance their login security.
• Currently, 2FA is supported only via authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and similar applications.
• If you no longer have access to your authenticator app or recovery code, we recommend reaching out to our Support Team via live chat or email for further assistance.
• This article is divided into three parts: How to set up Two-Factor Authentication, How to log in using 2FA and How to log in using Recovery Codes.

A) How to set up 2FA (Two Factor Authentication)?  

i) Access your Yapsody Account and click on the "Account Name" at the top right and select "My Account" from the drop-down list. 

ii) Next, click on "Account Security" followed by "Add Authentication Method."

iii) To ensure your account security, we need to confirm it’s really you before enabling Two-Factor Authentication.
A six digit one-time code will be sent to your email address from which you have accessed the account, simply populate the fields with the code. 

Note:- If you didn't receive the code, click "Resend", also don't forget to check the SPAM / JUNK folder, your email provider might be directing this email to those folders. 

Note:- Email containing the code will have a subject line "Verify Your Email to Enable 2FA on Your Yapsody Account"

iv) Upon successful verification, please click "Next" for the pop-up that would have default selection of "Authenticator App."

v) Use an authentication app (such as Google Authenticator) to either scan the barcode displayed on your screen or manually enter the code shown below it. Once done, click "Proceed" to receive a prompt where you'll need to enter the verification code generated by the app.

vi) Now, you'll be displayed confirmation prompt along with several option to retain the Recovery Codes. 

Notes:- 

• This recovery codes are very important and you can use them to regain access to your account if you faces difficulties with the Authentication App.

B) How you'll be prompted to enter the Authentication Code? 

After entering your registered email address and password, you’ll be prompted to enter an authentication code, as shown in the screenshot below.

Open your authentication app, enter the code displayed, and click "Verify" to access your account.

C) How to use Recovery Codes to gain access to your account? 

i) Click "Use a Recovery Code" option. 

ii) Next, access the Recovery Codes File, file contains 10 unique codes and each code is valid for one time use, populate the code in the field and click "Verify" to access your account.
