How to Use the Yapsody YapScan Android App

Yapsody allows event presenters to seamlessly scan tickets using their Android devices. The Yapsody YapScan app provides a quick, secure way to manage entry lines and validate your customers' tickets at the gate.

Step-by-Step Guide

1) Download and Install the App

Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for "Yapsody YapScan." The app is completely free to install. Tap the Install button, and open the app once the download finishes.

2) Sign In to Your Account

Once opened, tap the Sign in button to access the login screen. Enter your registered email address and password, then click Log in.

Note: If you initially signed up for Yapsody using your social credentials, you can also choose to log in using Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.

3) Select Your Event

After logging in, your event dashboard will display. Events that are ready for ticket scanning will show a green light next to them. If you tap into an event that is not yet ready for scanning and select a ticket, the app will display a countdown message showing exactly when scanning begins (e.g., "Scanning will begin in 7 days").

4) Manual Ticket Scanning and Unscanning

Once you select an active event, your full attendee list will appear.

• To Scan: Tap on an attendee's ticket and select Scan.

• To Unscan (Undo): If you need to revert a scan, simply tap the scanned ticket again and select Unscan.

• Track History: Click on Details at any time to check the exact timestamps of when a ticket was scanned or unscanned.

5) Camera Scan Mode (QR Code Scanning)

For faster entry at the gate, use your device's built-in camera to validate tickets. Tap the Camera Mode icon located in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Center the square viewfinder directly over the ticket’s QR code to scan it automatically.

Post-Scanning Status Alerts:

• Scanned: A green confirmation message will appear if the ticket is valid and processed successfully.

• Duplicate: An error message will display if the ticket has already been scanned.

Pro-Tips & Troubleshooting

• Missing Events? If you cannot see your active event, log out and log back into the app. Please also verify that you are signed into the correct Yapsody account and that your profile has the required User Permissions to scan tickets.

• Keep Updated: Ensure you are using the latest production version of YapScan (v2.6.52).
