Yes, you can scan tickets using the Yapsody scanning app without an active internet connection. To ensure a smooth entry process, please review the following requirements and limitations.
Prerequisites for Offline Scanning
Before you lose connectivity, you must download the attendee data to your device:
Connect to the internet: Ensure your device has a stable connection.
Select your event: Open the app and tap on your event.
Sync data: The app will automatically sync with our servers and download the necessary ticket data.
Once the sync is complete, you can scan tickets in areas without internet access.
Important Considerations for Offline Mode
While scanning offline is supported, please keep the following limitations in mind:
No Multi-Device Syncing: If you use multiple devices at different entry points, they cannot communicate without an internet connection. This means a single ticket could potentially be scanned on multiple devices without being flagged as "Already Scanned."
Missing Data for New Sales: If you continue to sell tickets after you have performed your initial sync, the data for those new tickets will not be on your device. These tickets will fail to scan until you reconnect the device to the internet to perform a fresh sync.
Automatic Sync: Once an internet connection is restored, the device will automatically sync with our servers to upload scan data and download any new ticket information.
Best Practice
If possible, we recommend periodically reconnecting your devices to the internet throughout your event. This ensures all devices are updated with the latest sales data and helps prevent duplicate ticket entries.
