Tracking Links feature gives you the ability to add and update your own tags for conversion tracking, site analytics, and more. You can easily analyze sales and revenue from various social media handles, websites, or links.
How to create a Tracking Link Tag?
There are two ways to access the Tracking Links section of your event.
- Login to your account, select the event for which you want to create a tracking link tag, hover the mouse on Promote at the extreme top right, and click on Tracking Links.
OR
- Login to your Yapsody account and Edit your event (How do I Edit the event?).
- Now Click on 'Marketing' followed by 'Tracking Links'.
3. To create a tag, Enter your preferred tag name in the box that says 'Enter Tag' and then click on 'Create Tracking Link Tag'
Note: The character limit for creating a tag is 50 characters that support digits, alphabet, space, and underscore. Tag names cannot be duplicated within the same event.
4. It will display a pop-up that will show 'Tag created successfully' and provide you the tracking link that can be used to share on the intended Social Media handle / Website to track your sales.
Note: The created tags cannot be edited or deleted if any sale has occurred using that tag.
How to view the Tracking Link Report?
- The Tracking Link Report is available under the Tracking Links Tab and can be easily accessed by selecting the event for which you want the report, hovering the mouse on Promote at the extreme top right, click on Tracking Links.
- The Tracking Link Report will display the columns such as Tracking Link Tag, Ticket sold, Ticket Revenue, Discount, Surcharge, and Total.
- This report can be generated performance-wise and is downloadable in PDF and CSV formats.
To have a better understanding of how the tracking for the tags work, we have listed a few scenarios below;
Scenario 1:
Action: The ticket buyer hits the tracking link tag and completes the booking.
Tracking Link Tag: The tracking link tag will track the count.
Scenario 2:
Action: The ticket buyer hits the tracking link tag, adds tickets to the cart, continues shopping, and adds more tickets for the same event.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag will track the count each time the ticket buyer adds tickets to the cart and completes the transaction successfully.
Scenario 3:
Action: The ticket buyer hits the tracking link tag, adds tickets to the cart, continues shopping, adds tickets for another event to the cart, and completes the booking.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag will only track the event for which it was created, i.e., the tickets added to the cart for the first event.
Scenario 4:
Action: There are two events with two different tracking link Tag. The ticket buyer opens tracking link Tag of each event in two different tabs and purchases a ticket from one tab.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag of the tab where the ticket buyer made the purchase will get attributed.
Scenario 5:
Action: The ticket buyer hits the tracking link tag and attempts to complete the booking, but the transaction fails.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag will not be tracked since the transaction failed.
Scenario 6:
Action: The ticket buyer completes a booking but later requests a refund.
Tracking link Tag: The ticket count in the report will not be reduced on refunds.
Scenario 7:
Action: The ticket buyer hits the tracking link tag, adds tickets to the cart, empties the cart, and again adds tickets of the same ticket to the cart.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag will track the count of completed bookings.
Scenario 8:
Action: The ticket buyer hits tracking link tag, adds tickets to the cart, goes to the Yapsecure payment page, comes back from the payment page, and adds the ticket for the same event to the cart.
Tracking link Tag: The tracking link tag will track the count
