This article explains how to hold or release seats in a Reserved Seating event using the Hold Management feature in the Box Office interface. Seat holds allow you to reserve specific seats for VIP guests, sponsors, or internal allocations so they are not available for online booking. You can also remove the hold at any time to make the seats available for sale again.
Follow the steps below to place seats on hold or release held seats in your Reserved Seating event.

Steps to Hold or Release Seats
i) Open Hold Management
Within the Box Office interface, choose the event for which you want to manage seat holds, and then click the Edit option located at the top.
Next, click Hold Management.
ii) Add or Select a Channel Code
Click Add Channel to create a new Channel (Hold) Code. If Channel Codes have already been created, they will appear listed before the seating sections.
Channel Codes represent categories of seat holds, such as VIP guests, sponsors, or internal allocations.
iii) Hold Single or Multiple Seats
To hold single or multiple seats, simply click the seats you want to reserve and then select the Channel Color associated with the Channel Code.
The selected seats will change to the channel color.
Click Apply Changes to record the changes.
Note:
To remove a seat hold, follow the same procedure but click the No Channel button instead.
iv) Hold an Entire Row or Section
To hold an entire row or section, select either Rectangular or Lasso Selection from the list of selection tools displayed before the Channel Codes.
Use the mouse to draw over the row or section you want to select. Then choose the Channel Code and click Apply Changes.
Note:
To remove a seat hold, follow the same procedure but click the No Channel button instead.
Important Note
For General Admission sections within a Reserved Seating event, the entire section can be added to a channel. It is not possible to assign only a portion of the capacity to a specific channel.
