Overview
Sometimes while booking tickets, you may see an error saying your name, email, or a field is invalid, even though your details look correct.
This article explains:
Why these messages appear
What they mean
How you can fix them quickly
Common messages you may see
You might see messages such as:
“This field contains characters that are not allowed”
→ This usually means special characters were used (for example: symbols, emojis, unusual punctuation, or extra spaces).“Please enter a valid email address”
→ This usually means the email is not in the correct format. A valid email should look like:john@gmail.com“Please select the field”
→ This usually means a mandatory question or required field in the checkout form has not been completed (for example: a dropdown, checkbox, or custom question added by the presenter).“Please agree to terms and conditions”
→ This usually means the Terms & Conditions checkbox has not been selected.
Scroll through the page and make sure the checkbox is ticked before continuing.
How to fix email-related issues
If your email is being rejected:
Make sure it follows this format:
example@domain.comRemove any spaces before or after the email
Do not add commas, brackets, or extra symbols
Type the email manually instead of using copy/paste
Avoid using browser autofill
Examples:
✔ john.smith@gmail.com
✘ john.smith@gmail,com
✘ john smith@gmail.com
How to fix name-related issues
If your name is being rejected:
Use letters only (A–Z) where possible
Avoid special characters such as:
! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + = { } [ ] | \ / < >Avoid emojis
Avoid extra spaces at the beginning or end
Try removing punctuation such as quotes or unusual symbols
If your name includes accents or special characters, try a simplified version:
Instead of O’Connor, try OConnor
Instead of José, try Jose
Check for required fields in the form
Sometimes the error is not caused by your name or email.
Scroll through the entire form and check for:
Dropdowns that need to be selected
Checkboxes that must be ticked
Custom questions added by the presenter
If even one required field is missed, the system may block you from proceeding.
Avoid using browser autofill
Autofill can insert hidden characters that cause errors.
If problems continue:
Clear the field completely
Type your details manually
Do not select saved autofill suggestions
Try a different browser or device
If the issue still continues:
Try using Chrome, Safari, or Edge
Try opening the page in an incognito/private window
Try switching devices (mobile ↔ laptop)
This often resolves form and validation issues.
