If you see a charge on your card but received a “Transaction Failed” email from Yapsody, this can be confusing. While this situation is rare, it can occur due to timing or connection issues during checkout.
This article explains why it happens and what you should do.
Why This Can Happen
This issue usually occurs for one of the following reasons:
You closed the browser or clicked the Back button while the card charge was still processing
The payment gateway took too long to respond, causing the checkout session to time out
Your internet connection was unstable or disconnected during checkout
In these cases, the payment may appear as charged even though the transaction did not complete successfully in our system.
What Normally Happens Next
Yapsody has an automated refund mechanism for these incomplete or abandoned transactions.
In most cases, the amount is automatically refunded
The refund typically reflects in your bank or card account within 2 to 3 business days
In some cases, the charge may automatically drop off from your statement instead of appearing as a separate refund
The exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
What You Should Do
If you see the charge drops off or a refund is processed, you can proceed with a fresh transaction.
If the charge remains, or you are unsure about the status, contact Yapsody Support with the following details:
Your email address
Event name
Approximate time of purchase
Screenshot of the charge (if available)
This step is important because some event presenters choose to opt out of automatic refunds. In such cases, instead of a refund, the presenter may choose to issue tickets manually for the payment received.
When you contact Support, our team will confirm whether:
A refund has been processed, or
Tickets were issued, or will be issued, by the event presenter instead
