The Access Code feature helps you to give limited access only to your prestigious customers so that they can book tickets for a particular event by merely entering a code. Kindly follow the below-mentioned steps to set the Access Code for an Event.
- You will need to edit an existing event to set up an Access Code for an Event (How do I do this?).
- Next, click on 'Pricing' followed by the 'Access Code' tab. There you can set the new access code by clicking the 'New Access code' button.
- The Access codes have two options, (A) General access code and (B) Single-use Access code.
(A) General Access Code – In this space, you generate a code that can be used multiple times granting customers access to buy tickets exclusively through the Online Ticket Store once they input the code.
"Restrict Redemption" refers to the number of times the code can be used at the Online Ticket Store and "Restrict Tickets" refers to the maximum number of tickets that can be purchased in a single transaction.
Take a look at this example: Assume that you have set the "Restrict Redemption" as 50 and "Restrict Tickets" as 3, in this scenario 50 different customers will be able to make separate transactions and will be able to purchase a maximum of 3 tickets per transaction. So overall you can sell 150 tickets.
(B) Single-Use Access Code – Since they are single-use codes each of them can be used only once.
i) It offers the flexibility to add your custom codes, simply select "Add My Custom Codes" and upload a unique code CSV file with each code on a new line.
If you want only the first few to be able to use these unique single-use access codes, use the "Restrict Redemption" field. Enter a desirable number and only that number of your purchasers will be able to get access to your event and the rest will be denied.
Take a look at this example: Assume that you downloaded 50 'Single-Use Access Codes' and distributed them among your patrons but you want to only give the first 30 customers (First come, first serve basis) the right to access the booking of the event, so in this case you set the 'Restrict Redemption' as 30. The 'Restrict Tickets' will work the same as the 'General Use Access Code', if you want your first 30 customers to purchase a maximum of 5 tickets per transaction then you set the 'Restrict Tickets' as 5.
ii) OR command the system to create the unique codes for you, simply click "Auto Generate Codes" and enter the code prefix, and number of codes that need to be generated. After the setup, download the codes and provide the same to your customers to book the tickets.
Note:- To download the system-generated codes, mouse over on the access code and click on the download icon.
- The access code can also be disabled based on particular performances and ticket types by selecting the performance and ticket type you want to disable. By default, all the performances and Ticket Types are enabled.
